we can scratch for a 1 bedroom
i can bet the ponies maybe
like every other weekend
i’ll plant some bluebonnets
& maybe after a month or two,
we can take a few days off
i can finish my chapbook
+ maybe next semester,
you can take a class
it’s a big city,
but we can make it work
