26 garland
She takes the garland for herself
a complete mathematical mess
she swigs the flask from her dress
there’s a slow song & she’s so within it
she opens her mouth and there’s a magnet in it
she’s not singing, she’s bleeding
and making me feel like i used to
you’ve never heard such a holy sound
watching ice melt off the leaves
falling back on holy ground
she goes right to my head
turns my white wine red
Should my final hour find me under other skies,
my thoughts will be only of you
